Ruth first came to Pilates as a post-natal client and quickly came to view it as a crucial tool in dealing with the demands of family life. Her dedication to the practice led her to train as a Pilates Foundation teacher, first of all in Matwork (at The Place, under Hana Jones, Susanne Lahusen and Sonia Noonan), then the Equipment training with Anne-Marie Zulkahari. She has been teaching since 2006 at studios such as Pilates Yoga Movement, triyoga and Mind Body Balance whilst also building up her private practice. In addition she is a qualified holistic massage therapist and has studied person-centred counselling. Prior to her bodywork training she worked in commerce and is a Cambridge graduate.
She has taught clients from many walks of life and from as young as six years old up to those in their nineties. She enjoys tailoring her classes to the individual needs of her client on the day and is passionate about communicating the benefits of Pilates with clarity, humour and flair.
